Quilombo dos Palmares maintains a strong presence in the national memory of Brazil. The site of the community has now been converted into a national park, the Quilombo dos Palmares Memorial Park. In the past two decades, it has been the focus of several videos funded by the government that document the park and interview historians about the legacy of Palmares.
